More Details

Château Cissac is a Cru Bourgeois whose terroir lies between the Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac appellations.  Neighbors include Château Lafite and Château Cos d'Estournel.  The estate has been owned by the Vialard family for generations.  The Queen of England is a fan and served Château Cissac at her 50th wedding anniversary party.  The wine is made in the same manner as the neighbouring classified growths and includes hand harvesting, single plot fermentation, and aging in French oak barrels.  Château Cissac 2016 is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 7% Petit Verdot.  The nose has rich aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and blueberries and integrated toasted oak and spice notes.  On the palate the wine has concentrated juicy fruit and a refreshing acidity.  There is a beautiful structure to the wine with fine silky tannins, and an overall elegance that continues into a long finish.  There is a polish to the wine, a subtle complexity and a hint of something dark, spicy and beautiful that begs you to take another sip.  Go on, be a Queen for a day!
