Chateau Puygueraud is owned and managed by the Thienpont family, a legendary wine-making family because they produce some of the most famous Bordeaux wines including Le Pin, Chateau Pavie Macquin, and Vieux-Chateau-Certan. George Thienpont purchased Chateau Puygueraud in 1946 and the property has been managed by both his son Nicolas Thienpont and his grandson Cyrille Thienpont.
Chateau Puygueraud is the benchmark wine for the Francs Côtes-de-Bordeaux appellation. The grape varieties in this rose are 30% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is blended from selected plots of land that are dedicated to the production of grapes for the rosé. Every step of the wine making process optimizes fruit, balance and freshness in the final blend.
The wine is a beautiful salmon colour with aromas of fresh strawberries. The wine is well balanced with lots of strawberry fruit, refreshing acidity with a lingering sweet flavor. Best served chilled.
