The Château du Breuil vineyard benefits from an outstanding location in the Haut Medoc.  It prospers in a valley dominated by Château Lafite on one side, and Château Cos d'Estournel on the other.  A landscape known to produce the finest wine of Bordeaux.  Recognized as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Château du Breuil has retained its status until today.  Owned by forward thinkers, the wine is made using the traditions of Bordeaux, but with a twist: American oak.  During maturation the wine is aged in a mixture of both American and French oak.  Not a common practice in Bordeaux, but one the family believes accentuates the best elements of the wine.

The blend in 2014 is 54% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot.  The nose is complex with aromas of fresh plum, blueberry, violets, cinnamon, and clove.  Due to the time in American oak there are also subtle notes of toasted coconut and dried vanilla pods.  On the palate the wine is fruit forward and dense, with fine polished tannins, beautiful structure and a powerful core.  A wine worthy of its distinguished neighbors Lafite and Cos d’Estrournel!

Food pairings include shredded crispy beef, smoked duck, char kway teow
